The village of Mt-Tremblant,
which has merged with the village of St-Jovite, is one of the best destinations in the Laurentians and
its international reputation date back for many generations. Thousands of travellers
were taking the train from Montreal to Mt-Tremblant to ski on the hill in winter
or to have their vacation during the summer time. This trip to Mt-Tremblant was so popular
that that it was nicknamed "le P'tit Train du Nord".
Throughout many years, tens of thousands of people would come to the race track to look
at prestigious events like the Canadian Grand Prix. Before it was moved to Montreal,
the Grand Prix of Canada was presented alternately between Mt-Tremblant and Mosport in Ontario.
Completely renovated, there is even more prestigious events presented.
Since Intrawest involved itself in Mt-Tremblant, its reputation has grown into a total success.
This project of an international four season touristic complex, with its investment nearing
the two billion dollar mark, has exploded into all the touristic infrastructures of the region.
A multitude of Hotels, Motels, Inns, condos and touristic facilities have been added to the
region. Mt-Tremblant has always had a good reputation in lodging, in quality and in quantity.
Mt-Tremblant has really become the heart of the Laurentians.
Since the railway is no longer in service, it has been transformed into a linear Park that can be used
for biking and hiking in the summer, and cross country skiing or snowmobiling in the winter.
The result of one of the best
touristic concertations in the Laurentians, the linear Park of "Le p'tit Train du Nord"
passes through dozens of villages all along its 200 km path.This Park is probably
one of the best touristic attraction of the Laurentians.
When you visit Mt-Tremblant, take the time to visit the heart of the village.
The air is pure, the local people are friendly and you will find the typical
